Most Berkshire League boys basketball coaches picked Nonnewaug, Northwestern and Gilbert as the teams to beat this season, but all of the coaches expect the league to be very competitive this season.

Here's just one quote from Housatonic head coach Dave Battistoni.

"The league is stronger and better balanced than the previous three yereas that I have coached," Battistoni said.

Battistoni's team is being called a dark horse by BL coaches.
