Undefeated Nonnewaug boys host Housatonic
Despite of the graduations of Cody St. John, Collin Schneider and Bryan Charette, the Nonnewaug boys basketball team sits at 5-0.
Tonight, the Chiefs host a Housatonic (2-3 overall, 2-2 Berkshire League) team that is in search of its identity after a 56-47 home loss to Lewis Mills last Friday. The Mountaineers were expected to be a darkhorse for the BL title, but inconsistency has hurt them. Housy knocked off previously undefeated Gilbert at home last Wednesday, then came out flat in Friday night's loss to Mills.
Tonight's game (7 p.m. start) will be a battle of size and strength. Both the Chiefs and Mountaineers don't mind playing physically on the defensive end, and both would like to impose their will inside on offense.
