Class S girls first round sees Wamogo, Shepaug move on

The No. 5 Wamogo and No. 18 Shepaug girls basketball teams moved on to Class S's second round after easy wins on Tuesday night.
The Warriors made quick work of No. 28 Goodwin Tech, 55-14 in Litchfield. The Spartans moved on with a convincing 44-16 win over No. 15 Wolcott Tech in Torrington.

Wolcott Tech may have lost on Tuesday night, but the Wildcats made their first-ever appearance in the state tournament. Wolcott Tech head coach Brian Hurlock reflected on his team's season in this video.

Girls basketball state tournaments resume on Thursday, weather permitting. In Class M, No. 4 Nonnewaug hosts No. 20 Sheehan at 7 p.m. in Woodbury.
