Nonnewaug girls host Wamogo in big Berkshire League battle
The Nonnewaug girls basketball team looks to keep its Berkshire League title hopes alive with a win over Wamogo at Nonnewaug High School tonight at 7.
The Warriors (13-4 overall, 12-3 BL) will be looking to keep their slim title hopes alive by playing the role of spoiler again against the Chiefs (16-2, 14-2). Wamogo needs a win over Nonnewaug and two losses from Thomaston to tie for the Berkshire League title.
In the first meeting between the Warriors and the Chiefs, Jessica Binkowski hit on both ends of a one-and-one with four seconds left to give Wamogo a 44-42 victory on Dec. 27 in Litchfield. The Warriors outscored the Chiefs 14-3 in the fourth quarter to win the game.
I will be sending out live tweets from the game. Look for live updates @kroberts023.
