Torrington girls coaching staff working hard
In any sport, it is the players on the court who determine the outcome of a contest.
That doesn't mean that the Torrington girls basketball team's coaching staff hasn't been working hard right along with the players. The Lady Raiders will put their 10-game winning streak on the line tonight at 7 at Wolcott.
After Tuesday night's 65-30 demolition of Derby, Torrington head coach Mike Fritch credited his coaching staff with putting in a lot of work. Fritch gets plenty of help from assistant coaches Erika Pratt, Joe Lefkowski and Barbara Beebe, along with Christine Gamari, who also helps the team out at practice.
"We have five people at practice," Fritch said Tuesday. "There's a lot of teaching going on."
