Northwestern boys outlast Housatonic in 79-74 in overtime

MARIANNE KILLACKEY/Register Citizen Correspondent
In this year's version of Berkshire League boys basketball, no road game is an easy one. Northwestern came out of Falls Village with a 79-74 overtime win over Housatonic on Friday night. It took major efforts from John Stevens (game-high 29 points) and Connor Guiheen (27 points, 11 rebounds) for the Highlanders to survive.
It was a tight game throughout. Neither team led by more than eight points. Northwestern's biggest lead, 7-0, came just 1:11 into the contest. Housatonic's largest lead of the night was 52-44 in the third quarter.
Mountaineer star guard Donyell Williams fouled out with 3:53 to play in the fourth quarter. He had 10 points. Housy was led by Tyler Dean, who had 18 points. Three other Mountaineers also hit double figures in points. Those were Ray Mohring (16), Wilson Terrall (15) and Williams (10).
