Berkshire League girls tournament semifinals tonight

The Berkshire League girls basketball tournament is down to the final four teams tonight at Wamogo Regional High School.
In the first game, second-seeded Nonnewaug faces third-seeded Wamogo at 6. The teams split their two regular season meetings. In the first meeting, Wamogo rallied for a 44-42 win on Dec. 27 on Jessica Binkowski's two free throws with four seconds left. In the second meeting, the Warriors nearly pulled off another comeback. Megan Layman's 3-pointer tied the game at 39, but Caitlin Drakeley's 3 from the top of the key at the buzzer gave the Chiefs a 42-39 victory. Our correspondent John Nestor will be covering this game.
In the second game, top-seeded Thomaston squares off against fourth-seeded Northwestern at about 7:30. The Golden Bears won both regular seasons. In the first meeting, Thomaston won at home, 41-34, on Jan. 6. In the second meeting, the Bears clinched the BL regular season title with a rough 26-25 win over the Highlanders in Winsted on Feb. 13. The teams nearly had as many turnovers (48) as points scored (51).
I will be covering that game. You can get live updates on that game on Twitter @kroberts023.
